Lifestyle Medicine Association

The Lifestyle Medicine Association is a national organization consisting of physicians, nutritionists, exercise physiologists and other healthcare workers, along with hospital administrators, and members of the public. The mission of the Lifestyle Medicine Association is to advance the field of Lifestyle Medicine and to promote the application of Lifestyle Medicine practices throughout the healthcare system. The Lifestyle Medicine Association offers a variety of educational opportunities including its journal, the American Journal of Lifestyle Medicine, as well as an annual conference for its members. The first annual conference of the Lifestyle Medicine Association will be held in November 2009 in Orlando, Florida. Center for Lifestyle Medicine at the University of Central Florida

The Center for Lifestyle Medicine at the University of Central Florida is the nation’s first university based academic center devoted to research and education to reverse the trend of negative lifestyle decisions and their adverse health effects. The CLM is located in the Research Park adjacent to the University of Central Florida Campus. The CLM at UCF admitted its first class of graduate students seeking Masters in Clinical Lifestyle Sciences in September 2007. The CLM at UCF is managed and directed by four faculty including its Chairman, James Rippe, MD, a board certified cardiologist. Additional faculty members are also found in the areas of exercise physiology, nutrition and metabolism. American Journal of Lifestyle Medicine is the world’s only peer reviewed academic journal devoted to advancing the field of Lifestyle Medicine and publishes articles in diverse areas of academic inquiry related to Lifestyle Medicine. The American Journal of Lifestyle Medicine is published by Sage Publications. It is sent to 20,000 physicians and other healthcare professionals on a bi-monthly basis.
